ART 295 X 130 MM. THE ART WILL NOT BE A DISAPPOINTMENT, A GEM OF A PAINTING. A LOVELY GIFT FOR A BIRTHDAY. THE ART IS NOT BLOCKED BUT IS PAINTED ON A CANVAS SURFACE PASTED ON HARD BOARD.
I PAINTED TABLE MOUNTAIN. FROM THE LEFT IS PART OF DEVILS PEAK, BEHIND EVERYTHING, TABLE MOUNTAIN WATCHES OUT OVER IT'S SURROUNDINGS. TO THE RIGHT IS THE LOVELY LION'S HEAD WITH THE 12 APOSTLES IN THE BACK GROUND. IN 1652 THESE MOUNTAINS HAD NO NAME AS YET. THIS IS WHAT JAN VAN RIEBEECK WOULD HAVE SEEN SAILING TOWARDS THE MOUNTAIN. THEY CALLED IT CAPE OF GOOD HOPE.
