Take a tour of Delta Park with Geoff Lockwood

A must for all nature lovers!

Geoff Lockwood, a well-known bird expert and birding tour guide in southern Africa, will be available to lead a “birding walk” in Delta Park, Johannesburg for a group of 6 – 10 people. The early morning walk will be followed by a relaxing breakfast at DEC.

Delta Park, which includes the Florence Bloom Bird Sanctuary, is one of the largest and most attractive parks in Johannesburg. It offers a range of habitats that support a very diverse bird population. Over the past 30 years, bird species have been recorded, and some ringed, by Geoff Lockwood. This count represents about 40% of all the species found in South Africa!

Delta Park has recently been included in the Joburg City Parks “World Class Park” programme which will ensure that facilities will be up-graded, thus increasing the sustainable utilization of this attractive public open space.

This event, hosted by Delta Environmental Centre’s celebrity, Geoff Lockwood, will be an ideal corporate team outing or an incentive for staff who are passionate about “green” issues.
 

All proceeds from this auction will benefit a charity associated with The Trust, the Delta Environmental Centre.
