A stolen child. A hidden world. A race against time.
Its a cold, wet winter night when a car pulls into a service station on the Dublin quays. Strapped into the back seat is three-year-old Presley, asleep. His mother, the beautiful model and "it-girl" Tara Parker Trench, runs inside for five minutes to pay for petrol. When she returns, the car is empty. Her son is gone.
Distraught and terrified, Tara turns to DI Jo Birmingham, one of the few female senior officers on the Dublin force. Jo is a single mother herself, struggling to balance a failing marriage and a demanding career, but she has a reputation for solving the cases others can't.
As Jo digs deeper, she realizes Tara is hiding somethingshe refuses to let the public know her son is missing. The investigation soon pulls Jo into a dark Dublin underworld of corruption, extortion, and high-stakes greed. In a world where sex is a commodity and life is cheap, Jo must find the truth behind Taras glamorous facade before its too late for the little boy.
