The Takex TX-114FR Wireless-Ready Dual-Zone Outdoor PIR Detector provides battery-powered motion detection across an adjustable area of up to 12 metres by 180°. It is designed to accommodate a compatible third-party wireless alarm transmitter inside its rear compartment, making it suitable for locations where running alarm cable is difficult.
Two independently adjustable dual-zone sensor heads allow the detector to protect a wide perimeter or two separate areas. Takex dual-zone technology requires movement to activate both the horizontal and downward zones, helping reduce unwanted alarms caused by small animals and vehicles outside the selected detection range.

- Adjustable sensitivity and pulse count. Configure sensitivity from approximately 30% to 170% and select one- or three-pulse operation.
- Selectable alarm output. Solid-state normally closed or normally open output supports compatible wireless transmitters.
- Triple tamper protection. Detects removal of the cover, separation of the detector body and removal from the wall or pole.
- Outdoor-ready housing. The IP54 enclosure is suitable for indoor or sheltered outdoor installations. Takex confirms the 12 m × 180° coverage, 39V battery supply, wireless-transmitter compartment and IP54 housing.
Did You Know?
- The TX-114FR is not tied to one alarm brand. Its rear compartment is designed for a compatible third-party transmitter, but the transmitter must accept the detectors low-current solid-state alarm and tamper outputs.
- Each of the two sensor heads has its own horizontal and downward detection zones. This provides two independently directed dual-zone detection areas inside one housing.
- In OR mode, either sensor head can generate an alarm. In AND mode, both upper and lower sensor heads must detect before the combined output activates.
- Small-animal resistance depends on the mounting height, ground level and downward-zone adjustment. Takex does not publish a guaranteed animal-weight limit for this model.
- The selectable output-inhibition period can reduce repeated transmissions and battery use. Available settings are 10, 120, 300 or 900 seconds.
- The quoted 180° coverage is created by aiming the two sensor heads. Each individual head provides a 90° detection pattern.
- IP54 means the housing resists normal dust and rain exposure, but it is not waterproof and must not be sprayed with a hose.
- After a battery is connected, the detector requires approximately one minute to stabilise before normal detection begins.
Compatibility & Installation
The TX-114FR is wireless-ready, but it does not contain its own radio transmitter. A compatible third-party transmitter must be fitted inside the rear compartment and connected to the detectors alarm and tamper outputs.
The detector and transmitter can use a shared battery where their voltage requirements are compatible, or they can use separate batteries. The detectors supply voltage must be equal to or higher than the voltage required by the installed transmitter.
Takex recommends mounting the unit vertically at approximately 0.81.2 metres above ground level. The expected movement path should cross the detection zones. Avoid strong light, exhaust vents, unstable surfaces, electrical interference and objects that obstruct the protected area.
The optional Takex BP-32 pole attachment is required for pole installation and is sold separately. Professional installation, transmitter compatibility checking and a complete walk test are recommended.
