TANKARD M.O.T.H. 1978 PEGASUS RAID COMMEMORATION VINTAGE RHODESIA

Inscription on one side: Pegasus Raid M.O.T.H. September 1978. Other side: RNA and Badge/emblem

Colour: Light blue with gold lettering, slightly faded in places, but still legible.

Maker's Mark on base:  Norbel Potteries (Pvt) Ltd Salisbury Rhodesia

Height: 13cm. Width with handle: 38cm. Width across mouth: 9cm. Weight: 550g

Condition: very good. No chipping.

The assumption is that the tankard commemorates a M.O.T.H. reunion for the Royal Naval Association (RNA) held in September 1978, probably in then Rhodesia as the tankard was produced in Salisbury. The Pegasus Raid probably refers to a 'raid' that Pegasus Shellhole in Zimbabwe conducted on another shellhole or vice-versa.
