The boards are square and solid, with some wear to extremities. Mild foxing to the first and last few pages, and to the perimeters of some of the other pages, however they are otherwise clean and unmarked. The basic theme of this book "is beer, and the part it has played in South African life from the days when Jan Van Riebeeck himself, newly landed in Table Bay, added to his varied activities that of the nation's earliest brewer."
