A large, showy, marginally aquatic plant with heart-shaped, dark green leaves on long "stalks". Plant them in a container, or near water for best effect, or use them to achieve that tropical look in gardens. They do the best in a semi shade position, but can tolerate both sun and shade well. Tubers are edible once boiled.
