Boards reasonably bright and clean. Corners rubbed but still sharp, not scuffed. Light shelf-wear, rubbing and fading to top edge; heavier rubbing to heel, somewhat scuffed. Binding intact, no loose or missing pages, no tears. Price scratched out in pen on front free endpaper otherwise endpapers bright and clean. Age-toning and light foxing on title page and opposite. Age-toning and light foxing throughout text block. Light damp-stain to lower fore-edge which affects margins of most pages of the text block. Damp-stains to top and bottom edges of the binding which persists throughout last third of text block. Recto of rear free endpaper age-toned. The occasional finger smudge, small stain and signs of handling but otherwise text block clean: no inscriptions, no underlining or highlighting, no marginalia

DJ: Top of spine scuffed, chipped, otherwise light edge-wear, somewhat scuffed and chipped at hinges, but no large tears. Small scratch on front cover. Spine faded, with light rubbing along hinge near head and heel. Damp-stained at the heel. Inside age-toned, shelf-rubbed, scratched and damp-stained along the upper and lower edges.
