Zoltan was born in Rónaszék, Hungary in 1907; Academy of Fine Arts, Budapest 1928/33, Assistant Professor during 1931/33. Italian State Bursary for Painting, Rome Academy, 1933/35. Emigrated to South Africa in 1950, having spent two years in Italy after leaving Hungary. Died in Johannesburg, 1992. Was married to Elizabeth Sebök, painter and mosaic artist; their children, both artists, are Barbara Borbereki (Goldin) in Sydney and Daniel Kovács in Cape Town
