On offer is a collection of very frameable handmade woodblock prints by Kono Bairei, a Kyoto-born artist (18441895). See Wikipedia for details of his life. They all come from his three-volume work on Chrysanthemums (the Japanese Imperial flower), which was published in 1891, 1892, and 1896.
These prints all date from that publication and are NOT later reproductions. Each print measures 25x33cm, including margins.
There is the inevitable medial vertical fold as the images occupied two pages in these volumes. However, this would barely show under glass. The light browning of the text is how these prints are always found. Condition is very good.
Individual prints from these series sell on Ebay for U.S.$30 each. Here you have an opportunity to own ten for less than that price. Please note that these are NOT reproductions but the original hand-printed images.
