The Tenda AC5S is an affordable AC1200 dual-band router built for everyday home and small-apartment use, particularly where fibre speeds top out around 100Mbps. Running both bands simultaneously under one network name, it delivers combined wireless speeds of up to 1167Mbps, 300Mbps on 2.4GHz for range and device compatibility, plus 867Mbps on 5GHz for less congested, faster local traffic.
Four external 6dBi high-gain antennas help push signal further through walls and across multiple rooms than the small internal antennas found on basic ISP-supplied routers. The AC5S includes 1 WAN and 3 LAN Fast Ethernet (10/100Mbps) ports, plenty for typical home use with a handful of wired devices like a smart TV or desktop PC alongside Wi-Fi clients.
Setup is straightforward through Tenda's app or web interface, with support for guest networking, parental controls, and a smart sleep mode that can power down indicator LEDs and reduce standby consumption overnight.
