The load cycle of these devices is similar to the write cycle of arandom-access memory, allowing easy interface to most popular microprocessorbuses and output ports. Segmenting the high-order bits minimizes glitches duringchanges in the most significant bits, where glitch impulse is typically thestrongest. This device operates from a 5 to 15V power supply and dissipates lessthan 15mW. The 2 or 4-quadrant multiplying makes this device a sound choice formany microprocessor-controlled gain-setting and signal-control applications.
