The Texecom Connect SmartCom Ethernet & Wi-Fi Communicator connects a compatible Premier Elite alarm system to Texecoms digital services through the propertys internet connection. Designed for professional installers and Premier Elite system owners, it supports mobile control, system-event notifications, cloud-based servicing and compatible alarm reporting. You can connect it through wired Ethernet or a supported 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, depending on the installation.
Key Features
- Control your alarm from the Texecom Connect app. Compatible users can arm, disarm and part-arm the system, review activity and receive notifications from a supported smartphone or tablet.
- Connect by Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Use a wired network connection or a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to suit the propertys router location and cabling.
- Avoid inbound port forwarding. SmartCom communicates with Texecoms services using outbound connections, reducing the router configuration normally required for remote access.
- Supports remote installer access. Compatible systems can be managed through Texecom Cloud, with Wintex upload, download and diagnostic support helping installers reduce unnecessary site visits.
- Provides a route to monitored signalling. SmartCom can support Texecom Monitor alarm reporting when the system, service and Alarm Receiving Centre have been correctly configured.
- Powered directly by the alarm panel. The communicator receives its low-voltage power through the supplied panel cable, so a separate local power adaptor is not required.
- Supports remote product updates. SmartCom firmware can be updated remotely, allowing compatible features and improvements to be deployed without replacing the communicator.
- Provides clear connection feedback. Front status indicators show network, cloud and communication conditions, helping the installer identify connection problems during setup.
Compatibility & App Support
Compatible with supported Texecom Premier Elite control panels running firmware V4.00 or later. Some cloud and remote-upgrade functions require newer panel and SmartCom firmware.
The SmartCom requires two available communication ports on the alarm panel. It is not listed as compatible with the Premier Elite 640 in Texecoms current SmartCom installation guide.
Supported services include the Texecom Connect app for compatible user control and notifications, Texecom Cloud for installer management and remote servicing, and Texecom Monitor for supported alarm signalling.
Wi-Fi operation requires a 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n network. A 5 GHz-only Wi-Fi network is not supported. Professional installation and network configuration are recommended.
Whats Included
- 1 x Texecom Connect SmartCom Ethernet and Wi-Fi Communicator
- 1 x Dual-COM Panel Connection Cable
- 1 x Texecom Premier Elite ComPort+ Module
Note: The Premier Elite alarm panel, Ethernet network cable, router, mounting screw, wall plug and other installation equipment are not included.
Did You Know?
- The SmartCom is not a cellular communicator and does not contain a SIM card. It depends on the propertys Ethernet or Wi-Fi internet connection, so SmartCom 4G should be considered where cellular connectivity or network backup is required.
- The included ComPort+ can convert the compatible panels onboard digital communicator connection into an additional COM port. This is useful because the SmartCom itself requires two communication ports.
- Wi-Fi may be suitable for Texecom Connect app functions, but Texecom does not permit Wi-Fi as the communication path for compliant Texecom Monitor signalling. Monitored installations must follow the current Texecom requirements, including a suitable screened Ethernet connection.
