The Texecom Premier Elite 8XP-W 868MHz Ricochet Wireless Expander adds wireless device capacity to compatible Texecom Premier and Premier Elite alarm systems. Designed for professional residential and commercial installations, it allows an existing panel to accommodate up to eight compatible Ricochet wireless devices without running alarm cable to every detector. Ricochet mesh communication allows enrolled devices to pass messages through the network, helping maintain communication where a direct radio path may be weaker. It is well suited to focused wireless extensions such as garages, outbuildings, additional rooms and difficult-to-cable areas.

- Adds wireless protection to an existing system. Introduces capacity for up to eight compatible Ricochet wireless devices without replacing the complete alarm panel.
- Maintains alternative communication paths. Ricochet mesh devices can relay messages through other enrolled devices, allowing the network to reroute communications when a direct path weakens.
- Supports hybrid alarm installations. Combine wired devices already connected to your panel with wireless detectors, contacts, sounders and other compatible Ricochet equipment.
- Provides installer diagnostics. Ricochet diagnostic information helps an installer check signal strength, routing, device visibility, communication status and faults.
- Works with Texecom programming tools. The communication port supports compatible interfaces for connection to Ricochet Monitor and other applicable Texecom installer software.
- Allows engineer-keypad connection. A compatible Premier or Premier Elite LCD engineers keypad can be temporarily connected for supported programming and system testing.
- Helps detect unauthorised interference. Lid and rear tamper facilities allow the alarm system to monitor opening or removal of the expander enclosure.
- Suitable for graded alarm installations. Designed for use in applicable Grade 2, Environmental Class II alarm systems when installed with compatible equipment.
Did You Know?
- The 8XP-W is wireless on the detector side, but it is not wireless back to the alarm panel. The expander connects to the panels four-wire power and data network, while the enrolled Ricochet devices communicate wirelessly with the expander.
- Each wireless expander operates as its own Ricochet network. Devices assigned to one expander cannot use devices assigned to another expander as part of their mesh route, so each expander should be positioned with its own coverage area in mind.
- On a compatible Premier Elite V4 system using suitable V3 expander firmware, a replacement expander may be fitted without relearning all the wireless devices. This applies when the devices were originally learned directly to the V4 control panel.
Compatibility & Software Support
Compatible with supported Texecom Premier and Premier Elite control panels. Available functions, the permitted number of expanders and wireless capacity depend on the panel model, firmware version and overall system configuration.
The GCD-0001 is the 868 MHz version. All wireless detectors, contacts, SmartKeys and other Ricochet devices used with it must match the systems frequency.
Ricochet Monitor and Wintex are professional installer tools used for programming, diagnostics and system management. The 8XP-W does not provide homeowner app control or internet connectivity by itself.
