The Texecom Premier Elite ComGSM 2G GSM/GPRS Communicator adds cellular communication to a compatible Texecom Premier or Premier Elite alarm control panel. Designed for professional alarm installers, it can provide SMS event reporting, compatible remote SMS commands, GPRS alarm signalling and remote panel upload or download. It uses the mobile network rather than a propertys fixed telephone line or broadband connection, making it suitable for sites where a supported 2G service is available.
Key Features
- Sends alarm events by SMS. Compatible Premier Elite systems can report events such as alarms, arming and disarming directly to programmed mobile numbers.
- Supports remote SMS control. Authorised users can send supported text commands to arm, part-arm, disarm, reset or request system status, depending on the connected control panel.
- Provides GPRS alarm reporting. The communicator can transmit supported alarm events to compatible IP-enabled monitoring equipment through the cellular data network.
- Enables remote panel servicing. Installers can upload or download compatible panel programming using Texecom Wintex and the required GSM or GPRS service configuration.
- Works with different SIM configurations. Dynamic-IP and fixed-IP SIM cards can be used, although the available functions depend on the panel, SIM services and selected operating mode.
- Includes signal-status indication. Onboard LEDs help the installer check panel communication, GSM readiness and signal strength during commissioning.
- Protects against interference. The housing includes lid and wall-removal tamper facilities when it is mounted using the correct fixing point.
- Powered by the alarm panel. The communicator operates from the panels low-voltage supply through the included connection harness, so no separate plug-in power adaptor is required.
Compatibility & Software Support
Compatible with supported Texecom Premier and Premier Elite control panels. The manufacturer documentation covers Premier Elite 24, 48, 88, 168 and 640 panels, as well as selected Premier 412, 816, 816 Plus and 832 models. Available functions differ according to the panel model, firmware, SIM type and programmed communication-port mode.
Use GSM Module mode for supported SMS messaging and GSM upload or download functions. Use Com IP mode for supported GPRS alarm reporting and IP-based upload or download. GSM and GPRS operating modes cannot be used simultaneously on the same communication port.
The ComGSM is a 2G-only communicator. Confirm that the selected South African mobile network and SIM still provide suitable 2G GSM, SMS and GPRS services at the installation address before purchasing.
This product is not a SmartCom and does not provide Texecom Connect cloud or app functionality. Professional installation, programming and a mobile-network signal survey are recommended.

Did You Know?
- An ordinary mobile-phone SIM with a dynamic IP address can generally be used for supported SMS functions. A specialist fixed-IP SIM may be required for certain GPRS reporting or remote IP connections, depending on the monitoring service.
- The selected communication-port mode determines which functions are available. The module cannot operate in GSM Module mode and Com IP mode at the same time.
- A strong signal at phone height does not guarantee a reliable alarm installation. The antenna should be positioned vertically at the strongest practical indoor location and away from metal roofing, water tanks, electrical equipment and substantial cable runs.
