The 1822 Fame Shipwreck (Cape Town) : GOLD 1/3 Mohur of 1820 with Certificate

This is the one-third gold Mohur; I also have the gold One Mohur from the Fame shipwreck currently on auction.

The Fame was a British East indiaman, built in Calcutta. On June 14th 1822, while on her return voyage from Madras to England with a cargo of sundries and passengers, she was thrown on the rocks at Sea Point, by a strong North-Westerly storm, off Table Bay.

The coin comes with its original certificate of authenticity
