1974 first edition hardcover with dust jacket and 231 pages in good condition. R65 postage / paxi or R100 courier / postnet in SA. This book attempts to trace the relationship of the English with the Afrikaners between 1795 and 1854, and provides the basis upon which the Englishman (both in South Africa and in Britain), arrived at his conclusions. The author also tries to give his reasons for the division among English, not only in their opinion of the Afrikaner, but also as related to colonial events as they unfolded. Primarily the relationship between English and Afrikaner was the conflict between liberalism and conservatism.
