The Age of Chivalry by Arthur Bryant

The age of chivalry deals with the period known as the high Middle Age. It saw the first evolution of parliament, the beginnings of an English 'establishment'. It witnessed that great king's attempt to unify Anglo-Saxon and Celtic Britain under a single law and monarchy.

Sir Arthur Wynne Morgan Bryant was an English historian, columnist for The Illustrated London News and man of affairs. His books included studies of Samuel Pepys, accounts of English eighteenth- and nineteenth-century history, and a life of George V.
