Anyone familiar with Borges, or interested after reading his famouse "The Library of Babel", should enjoy this. If not, you may not, and this isn't the place to start. Borges explores many of his themes, including the Infinite and Argentinian street fighters, and the mystical is present and elusive throughout - this is what makes it interesting. He explores the fighting theme in several stories, which he says are really revisions of the same story. Most stories are based on incredible originality, which still seems clever now, though some can seem laboured or a little too similar to others.
It's not going to appeal to everyone, but if you like Borges, these are brilliant. Also included are some interesting commentaries, which can throw light on alternative interpretations to what you may have thought, and a fascinating "An Autobiographical Essay". This is written in a similar style to Borges short stories (without the mystical, but with a suitable amount of wry humour), and is worth the book.
