BUDDHA FROM INDIA:

The historical founder of Buddhism was Siddhārtha Gautama (often called Śākyamuni), who lived between 563 and 483 BCE in India. He was born a prince and was raised in luxury. According to legend, he left his palace one day and encountered an old man, a sick man, a corpse, and a religious beggar. From these encounters, he realized that life is not permanent, and that all people must face old age, sickness, and death.
AMIDA BUDDHA FROM JAPAN:
Buddhism reached Japan in 552 CE when the religion was already a thousand years old. By then it was a complex religion with many different doctrines and practices. The Amida Buddha is worshipped by followers of the Pure Land School of Buddhism, which teaches that salvation is not gained by good works or prayers but only through the mercy of Amida Buddha. THEY ARE LIKE THE PROTESTANT VERSION OF BUDHISM.

SPECIAL MUDRAS (HAND GESTURES) OF BUDDHA STATUES:
MUDRAS ARE THE HAND GESTURES OF MANY BUDDHA STATUES DEPICTING THE BUDDHA IN VARIOUS POSITIONS AND  EACH OF THE MUDRAS HAVE THEIR OWN MEANING.
THE WHEEL OF DHARMA (OR CIRCLE OF LIFE) MUDRA is one of such interesting and unique hand gestures used.  It represents a circle, and as the wheel rotates it is a symbol for continuity, movement and transition.
Both hands are used in this mudra. The right index finger touches the right thumb and the left index finger touches the left thumb so that two circles (wheels) are created. Left palm is facing inward in front of the right palm which is facing outward. This mudra is typically held in front of the heart. The Buddha is said to have used this mudra when he first taught after his enlightenment.
THE TWO FIGURES ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT ALSO HAS A PARTICULAR VERSION OF THE WHEEL OF DHARMA HAND GESTURE. The forefinger touches the thumb with palm facing open. The gesture of the right hand stands for turning the wheel of Dharma, while that of the left hand symbolizes meditation.

IF YOU LOOK AT ANY IMAGES OF THE BUDDHA, HE IS ALWAYS HOLDING A MUDRA OR HAND GESTURE. NEXT TIME YOU SEE AN IMAGE OR SCULPTURE OR STATUES OF BUDDHA, PAY ATTENTION TO THE POSITIONING OF HIS HANDS TO DETERMINE WHICH MUDRA HE IS IN.
