Description
The Archaeological Sites of Greefswald: Stratigraphy and Chronology of the Sites and a History of Investigations by A. Meyer.
A detailed archaeological study of the Greefswald complex, including Mapungubwe Hill, its southern terraces and the nearby K2 siteamong Southern Africas most important Iron Age archaeological sites.
The book examines the history of investigations and excavations from the 1930s onward, reassessing earlier interpretations and establishing a clearer chronology for the settlements. It discusses the discovery of the famous gold objects, graves, pottery, glass beads, dwellings and stone structures associated with Mapungubwe.

Black-and-white photographs

Condition
Fair-to-good research copy.
The covers have light rubbing, scratching, edge wear and bumped corners. The interior pages appear clean and complete, with only light age toning.
Importantly, the front internal hinge is split and the text block is pulling away from the cover, with binding adhesive visible. The book remains together and usable, but should be handled carefully and may eventually require repair.
There is also a previous owners handwritten name, date and location inside the front cover. Please examine the photographs carefully.
