Amazon Reviewer (review on the CD version of the album): Originally issued in 1972 as a double live album, 'Rock of Ages' captures The Band in concert at the height of their powers. Over the piece, for my money, there are more 'best' versions here than on the still staggeringly good 'Last Waltz' set. And the horn section are truely awesome and beautifully recorded! In all honesty, the second CD of songs with Dylan and some extra Band numbers, doesn't add an awful lot, though thanks all the same. In it's original form, this was one of the great live albums. Still is!

LP Grading Guide
Mint (M): Absolutely perfect in every way. Hardly ever, or never been played, possibly even still sealed.
Near Mint (NM or M-): A nearly perfect record. A NM or M- record will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. The record shows no obvious signs of wear and has been well taken care of.
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect the listening experience.
Very Good (VG): Light scratches are evident that might affect the sound, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise.
Cover Grading Guide
Mint (M): Perfect. No wear, marks, or any other imperfections.
Near Mint (NM or M-): The LP cover has no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable similar defects.
Very Good Plus (VG+): Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner.
Very Good (VG): Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time.
