Soft cover with a SIGNED gift inscription by the author. First published in 2006 by David Philip Publishers, 180 pages; colour plate of the Black Christ. Book in good clean condition.
The author is also the artist of the painting, The Black Christ. When it was unveiled in 1962, it showed the crucified Christ with the face of Albert Luthuli. The centurions were modelled on John Vorster and Hendrik Verwoerd. This is the story of the painting and the ordeal the artist suffered.
