The Corvo is a bladed weapon typically used in Chile. It is a knife with a curved blade of approximately 12 centimetres (5 inches).

Initially a tool, it was widely used in combat during the War of the Pacific (Guerra del Pacífico) 1879-1883, conflict involving Chile, Bolivia, and Peru, though it was not standard equipment.

Since it's a very offensive weapon (heavy and with slow recovery) it becomes a one-hit killer.

Due to its success, the Chilean Army decided to perfect the weapon and add it to their arsenal.

Today, the Corvo Knife is the symbol of Chilean Army Special Operations Brigade (Paratroopers, Commandos and Special Forces) and all of them are masters of this blade.

Turning to the Corvo is the official knife of the Armed Forces of Chile.
Its use dates back to the Spanish conquest, was used as a tool by the miners.
There are two main variants with respect to military Corvo, one is the Atacama (Atacama, northern mining region of Chile) hand curve at 45 ° and the specimens shown here, which are of the Condor Peak, wider angle of curvature, almost 90 °, its blade. This was the Corvo used by the Army officer corps de Chile.
