Also the later history of Colonels Dixon and Boxer of the British Ordnance who freely lifted ideas from other inventors and made a few bob on the side out of the production Sniders after Jacob￢ﾀﾚￃﾄￃﾴs death, to their eventual downfall.

Readers may be also interested to hear just how close the eventual .450￢ﾀﾚￃﾄￃﾹ Snider-Schneider-Mont Storm-Boxer-Henry-Daw-Eley-Wilson rifle came to being adopted which being slower firing, might well have lost the British the Zulu war a few years later.
