This text provides easy-to-follow instructions for selecting and tying more than 100 of the most useful knots. With knots for climbing, sailing and fishing, every knot contains information on its history and development, alternative names and its uses.
The book also contains a comprehensive glossary of terms to guide you through the complexities of different rope types and helps you choose the right rope for every task
Review: An excellent guide to the most useful and practical knots. Not only does each knot come with several large and simple illustrations (the easiest to understand that I've ever seen), but also detailed information on its application, such as when and when not to use it. The history behind some of the knots is fascinating, and Budworth's anecdotal experience lets the reader know that each knot is tried and true. A must-have for anybody interested in boating, outdoors, or even craft hobbies. Even if you're NOT interested in these activities, this is a superb reference for any person, since the ability to tie anything more than shoelaces is a skill too often unpractised by those who don't require it daily.
