Another of President Reitz's sons, studied law and became an advocate; he piloted the Architect's Private Bill (1927) through Parliament and was awarded honorary membership of the Institute of South African Architects and was made an honorary member of the Chapter of Quantity Surveyors in South Africa. It was through the persistence of Tom MOORE, assisted by Reitz, that the quantity surveyors won their independence and obtained statutory qualification, the first to do so in the world. Reitz was also a Member of Parliament. He lived in Pretoria until at least 1930 before moving to Johannesburg.
