Tarantula Spiderling: Chilean Rose

Beautiful Tarantula Spiderling available as pet     -    These are really COOL pets!!!!

These spiders are touted as the ideal tarantula for beginners, this attractive large spider is , hardy, and pretty easy to care for properly. They are one of the more popular species kept as pets.
These tarantulas are quite docile and not inherently very venomous (although they can inflict a painful bite, and severe allergic reactions to their venom are possible). However, regular handling of tarantulas isn't recommended since they can be seriously injured if they fall even a small distance. With proper care, a Chilean rose female could live up to 15-20 years! Adult Grammostola rosea female known as Chilean Rose hair tatantula

Are they not Dangerous Creatures?
They do bite, and their bites are venomous.
However, for most species, including humans, the toxicity of their venom is much like that of a bee or wasp. It is likely to cause a nasty local reaction like burn, redness, swelling. However, people can have a an allergic or anaphylactic reaction to spider bites in the same way that some people react to bee stings, and this reaction can be fatal. Tarantulas are wild animals, and need to be treated with respect. As a rule, however, most spiders would rather retreat than bite.

Caring for these spiders

Housing: A small (25 liter) tank is suitable for Chilean Rose Tarantulas. The width of the tank should be two to three times wider than the leg span of the spider wide, and only as tall as the spider's leg span. 2-3 inches of peat moss, soil, or vermiculite can be used as a substrate. Wood, cork bark, or half of a small clay flower pot can be used for a shelter/retreat.

Temperature: 21-30 degrees C

Humidity: 60-70%

Feeding: Crickets and other large insects (must be pesticide free), occasional pinky mouse for full grown spiders.

Temperament: Chilean Rose Tarantulas are usually docile and calm.

Notes: A combination of traits makes this species often recommended as the ideal species for beginners.Hardy and docile, this spider is commonly available, inexpensive, and easy to care for.

That's the general brief background information about this species of spider. NOTE: the spider on the photo above is the mother of the spiderlings that I offer on this page. She is not for sale, it is my personal pet.

The one you are bidding on looks like this!!

I have about 200 spiderlings left and you are welcome to buy some of them, they are beautiful and nice to keep as pets.

The photo on the right show how one of them looked on 1 December 2007 at the age of 8 months. The Spiderlings that are for sale

It will take about 3 years for the spiderlings to grow into adults, so do not expect them look like the adults on the photo above earlier that in two and a half years time.

The nice thing about thes spiders is that once they reached adulthood, their value increase up to 10 fold. When they are adults you can sell them for up to R1500.00 each. Think about the business proposition here .

I am offering them at about half the price that you would pay in a pet shop, that's if you are lucky to get one in a pet store.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer guarantees or warantees, these are life animals and anything can happen at any time, and they need your proper care and feeding to survive.

However, I do guarantee that they are Grammostola rosea Tarantulas and that they are healthy when they leave my care, thereafter it is your responsibility.

I will provide a proper care sheet with each spiderling.
