Jacket condition: Bright and clean, covered by previous owner with adhesive plastic. A few tiny holes in this protective layer--with no damage to the jacket itself--on the front and rear panels, but no edgewear. A couple of small air pockets trapped between this plastic layer and the jacket. Inside of jacket foxed, with some adhesive tape residue and some sticker damage. Some dust trapped between the protective plastic and the jacket (inside of jacket).
Book Condition: Besides a thin, faint white mark across the spine head, the boards are still clean, bright and crisp-looking. Very light rubbing to head of spine; no edgewear otherwise--corners sharp. Gilt lettering on spine bright and crisp. Edges of text block foxed. Front and rear endpapers age-toned and foxed. Prelims foxed. Page edges (persistently) and margins (intermittently) foxed throughout the text block. Besides foxing no other stains, or marks. No inscriptions, no underlining or highlighting, no annotations or marginalia. The binding is secure, intact; text and photographic plates are complete: no loose, missing or torn pages.
