Shuter and Shooter, Pietermaritzburg, 1950. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. No Dust Jacket. 1st Edition. Limited Edition, this being copy number 1593 of 1700 copies. Some knocks to corners of boards and rubbing to spine. Previous owners inscription on front endpaper. Green cloth with silver writing on front board and spine. Binding looks good. Now established as a classic africana, the book chronicles Natal's history fron 1824 to 1836. Fynn, the first white settler in Natal, landed at what is now Congella, rapidly learned Zulu, became friend and counsellor to Shaka, and was eventually ejected through the intrigue and treachery of Dingaan.
