Info: Wingham is a village and civil parish in the Dover District of Kent, England. The village lies along the ancient coastal road, now the A257, from Richborough to London, and is close to Canterbury. The pub dates back to the 13th Century and is Grade 2 Listed, and retains much of the features from the period, such as the thick timber beams, large open firees and vaulted ceiling. Ted Hoefsloot was born in Amsterdam, Holland in 1930. He studied advanced drawing and silkscreening at the Amsterdamse Graficshe School and emigrated to South Africa in 1955. He worked as a commercial artist in Cape Town as well as a book designer in Johannesburg. He had his first solo exhibition in Stellenbosch in 1965 and participated in numerous group exhibitions.
