This scarce first edition is an important work, later to be followed in the same format by R L Hobson's Wares of the Ming Dynasty.
Cover in good condition with a spot to the front cover (see photographs). Binding is firm. Text is very good condition throughout. Some spotting to endpapers, text, edges and plates. Text is printed on thick uncut handmade off-white paper which is very attractive and plates are on glossier white stock. Plates are tissue guarded. Not ex-library. An ex-libris is on inside front cover and a previous ownership signature in brown ink on the first free endpaper.
xviii + 160pp + plates. There are 100 illustrations of which 12 are in colour. Dimensions: 292mm high x 230mm wide x 40mm deep. A heavy volume.
