Condition: A large hardcover, 83 pages,published by Butterworth Publishers (PTY) LTD in 1985. Binding tight, spine square, chaffed and torn at spine ends and at the board corners. Small spots (insect damage) to front board.Shelf rubbed and stains due to handling. Cellotape marks on inside of boards. End pages at the back have no visible water marks, but must have been exposed to dampness at some stage. On some pages sentences are underlined in pencil with pencilled notes in the margins. The maps are crisp and clean.
Contents: A cartographic guide for historical research, regarding the Eastern Cape frontier zone. This zone has played a very prominent role in South African history. It constituted the primary contact zone between whites and blacks in the country.
