Two volume tall octavo set published by Edward Arnold, 1904. First English edition, translated by J. Arthur Thomson and Margaret R. Thomson. Publisher's maroon cloth with gilt spine titling and stamped borders inset from edges, with small patches of surface insect damage. Black endpapers, some foxing and minor stains to pages of both volumes, and both contain the name of a previous owner dated 1910 on the first end-papers, and his ink stamp again on the title pages. Volume 1, 416 pages including index followed by 8 of advertisements, volume two, 405 pages including index, and two of advertisements.
