The Father of a City: The Life and Times of George Cato First Mayor of Durban by Eric Goetzche not only tells the interesting life story of this man but also gives an account of the early history of Natal. The book also includes a few black & white photographs

The book is in good condition but the dustjacket shows signs of use especially on the top cover near the spine where there is a small tear and crease. A short message has been inscribed on the first page. There is slight foxing inside both back and front covers of the book.

A fascinating read for anyone interested in South African history, especially that of Natal!
