The Gentle Art of Making Enemies - an account of the libel suit brought by Whistler against critic John Ruskin. Fifth reprint 1912, published by William Heinemann, no jacket. The boards are bumped and marked in places. Some netting visible at front inside board. The rough cut pages are tanned, but otherwise clean and unmarked.

Eden Versus Whistler The Baronet and the Butterfly - an account by Whistler of legal proceedings brought against him by Sir William Eden, relating to Whistler not delivering a portrait of Lady Eden paid for by Sir William. Published by Louis-Henry May, Paris, undated (possibly 1899), but owner details to first end-paper are dated 1904. Both books in similar condition.
