The boards are square and solid, but are worn around the edges, with some fraying visible at the head and foot of the spine, and the faces are rubbed and marked. There is much foxing / spotting internally throughout, and the binding appears a little weak at some pages. Three photographic plates are loose, but present in their place. Several pages have minor tears to the edges, and the name of the previous owner is written at least three times in the book, in pencil.
