This is "The Great Wh@re", Babylon of the Apocalypse, a symbol of depravity, held up as a warning and a example to the world. It is the picture which the name of Babylon usually evokes, but it is a thoroughly misleading picture, a sad, flamboyant tailpiece to one of the most remarkable chapters in history.
