This is a comprehensive account of the Griquas of South Africa, a mysterious and unfortunate people whose identity and homeland was virtually lost by the time this study was completed. The author's interest dated from the early 1900s and his history covers the origins, rise, progress, customs, culture, European contacts and eventual decline.
