"The Guns of Navarone" is a 1961 war film about a team of Allied commandos tasked with destroying two massive German guns on a Greek island to save trapped British soldiers.
Set during World War II, the film follows a group of Allied saboteurs who are assigned a perilous mission to infiltrate the German-held island of Navarone. The island is home to two enormous radar-directed guns that threaten the rescue of 2,000 British soldiers stranded on the nearby island of Kheros. After failed aerial attacks to destroy the guns, Allied command decides to send a six-man team disguised as Greek fishermen to carry out the mission.
