Francis Grose (1731-1791) was a prolific writer. Among his texts was Rules for drawing caricaturas: with an essay on comic painting (published in 1788),
This print appears to have been published in a very restricted of just 30 copies. I paid a fortune for it when I acquired it years ago. Grose himself was the printmaker.
