The Hills - It's one thing to be young and beautiful in Laguna Beach. It's another to be young and beautiful in the city that values it most. The Hills follows Lauren ("LC" from Laguna Beach) as she makes the move from her O.C. digs to Los Angeles, where she will chase her dreams of entering the fashion business with her internship at Teen Vogue, while balancing a full course load at college and an even fuller social calendar. Through Lauren we meet her new roommate who aspires to make the LA nightlife her whole life (Heidi), the sorority girl who aspires to work in fashion (Whitney) and a receptionist who wants to be a model/actress (Audrina). These four girls take full advantage of being in the LA "in" crowd, hopping from club, to party, to hot restaurant as they live the Hollywood lifestyle to the full. The City - It is a whole new world for 'The Hills' star Whitney Port, as she packs up and moves from the comforts of her hometown in Los Angeles, California, to the bright lights of Manhattan. With a new job at global design house, Diane von Furstenberg, a best friend from her past and a guy she's head-over-heels for, Port is taking a huge chance at a brand new life. Surrounded by all new friends, pursuing a fresh love life, and starting to work in the upper echelon of the fashion industry is a lot to navigate for a new girl in the big city, especially one who has everything to lose. In a city full of people with their own agendas, Port will have to quickly decide whom she can trust and whom to stay away from.

Laguna Beach - The weekly, 30-minute MTV reality series Laguna Beach focused on a group of California teenagers as they endured their final years (or, in many cases, final year) of high school. Season one was narrated by high school senior Lauren Conrad (or L.C.) a party animal and Laguna Beach's "Most Irresistable Girl" (by popular vote). Introduced in the course of events was a junior named Kristin Cavallari, who would take over the narration for Season two. The tensions between L.C. and Kristin formulated several of the episodes, which not surprisingly were dominated by issues of dating, peer pressure, popularity, and ambitions for life beyond high school. The MTV camera crew was given unlimited access to the eight students' activities on and off campus, with sometimes shocking, sometimes heartbreaking, and sometimes hilarious results. Created by the same team responsible for The Real World, and outfitted with a theme song written and performed by no less than Hilary Duff.
