When Halsey manages to escape, Ryder initiates a brutal game of cat and mouse, leaving the bodies of his latest victims for Halsey to find. Halsey finally finds a friend in truckstop waitress Nash (Jennifer Jason Leigh) but soon the police, as well as Ryder, are hunting them, because Ryder has framed Halsey for his crimes.
