The story of the Huguenots at the Cape.

Persecuted in France, great numbers of Protestants known as Huguenots fled the country in the last years of the 17th century. Some of these refugees were encouraged to settle among the Dutch free burghers in the new colony at the Cape of Good Hope. Here they were to leave a legacy which is still acknowledged today.
