The boards are clean and bright, intact except for very light rubbing to three of the corners and the heel of the spine. Top edge of text block foxed. Top edge of p 174 and opposite, and p.220 and opposite, each: a small area of paper layer lifted off the page surface due to the leaves having been prised apart. Five or six faint yellow spots of foxing in the last fifth of the book.  No inscriptions, no highlighting or underlining, no annotations or marginalia. Binding is secure; text is complete: no loose or missing pages.

Jacket condition: The jacket is clean and bright. Tiny chip to the edge at the foot of the jacket's spine. Minor creasing at head of jacket's spine and top corner of front panel. A tiny chip off the outer coloured layer on spine hinge, and another tiny chip to top edge of rear panel. Superficial shelf-rubbing on rear panel. Very light foxing and age toning, and a tiny brown stain at the top edge on inside of jacket.
