Condition: Good (+) / DJ Good.
Binding intact, tight; no loose or missing pages,no tears. Boards a bit dusty-looking and faded, especially the head and foot. Damp-staining to upper and lower edges of back cover. Some small white marks and couple of small indentations, without any tearing or piercing of the cloth, though. Upper and lower edges substantially rubbed, but not scuffed. The cloth covering is not compromised. Corners of front cover very lightly bumped but still sharp. Foxing and age-toning of endpapers, with previous owner name inscription. Age toning of title page. Foxing to top edge of text block. Text block itself shows some light age-toning to top margins, a couple of cases of light foxing, isolated finger smudges and a few rare, faint specs of dirt. On the whole the impression clean and still remarkably crisp. No inscriptions or notes, no highlighting or underlining, no marginalia.
DJ: Cover creased on front near spine. Superficial scratches on back. Unclipped. Significant edge-wear: rubbed and scuffed, with small tears, chipped; especially head and heel of DJ spine head, and head and heel of hinges; no major large tears, however. Spine faded. Top and bottom edge dampstained. Foxing and significant dampstaining on inside of DJ. These stains only affects the cover and boards; there is no sign of mold and no moldy smell or buckling of the pages inside.
