This stylish and contemporary update of the 1969 Michael Caine classic sees mastermind Charlie Croker (Mark Wahlberg) and his team - inside man Steve (Edward Norton), computer genius Lyle (Seth green), wheelman Handsome Rob (Jason Statham), explosives expert Left-Ear (Mos Def) and veteran safecracker John Bridger (Donald Sutherland) - pull off the perfect heist, stealing millions of dollars worth of gold bullion from a heavily guarded palazzo in Venice, Italy. What the team don't expect is that one of them will turn out to be a double-crosser and steal the gold from them. The Italian Job sees some of the most spectacular stunt sequences in Hollywood history: a high speed boat chase in the incredibly narrow canals of Venice, spectacular MINI Cooper driving sequences in heavy rush hour traffic and a frantic helicopter pursuit across Los Angeles.
