Amis was the first author to write a continuation of the James Bond series after Fleming's death. Initially South African author Geoffrey Jenkins was approached for this task as he had close personal ties with Fleming, but for whatever reason his manuscript was never published. In "The James Bond Dossier" Amis explores and compares all the recurring themes and personal myths in Fleming's oeuvre. His accurate observations lead to humorous conclusions. A joy to read!
