In 1940 the Channel Islands fell under GErman occupation. The Nazis soon turned their attention towards identifing and discriminating against the few Island residents who were 'deemed to be Jews'. In the following year the Germans began a massive fortification building program and amongst the workers transported to the Islands were over one thousand Jewish forced workers. These stories remained largely untold until the recent uncovering of many key file and documents.
