Originally published 1931 by Bobbs-Merrill Co Inc, USA. The UK version was first published in 1941 by J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd and this version was repinted in 1957. No dust jacket. The outside cover appears to be a sort of hardened cloth. Minimal tanning, if any, of pages which are relatively clean except for a few small spills here and there. The page edges are marked (when book closed). Binding secure, except for inside cover as shown in pic below. One page has a small corner missing.
902 pages which contain 785 recipes. The rest relates to herbs, a wine chart, recipes for left-overs, a health chart, a vitamin chart, a calorie chart, table settings, meat substitutes and supplementary dishes, menus for different occasions, definitions of cooking terms and processes, table of equivalents. There are various appendices relating to frozen foods, pressure cookery, useful hints and an index. I would say that this is possibly the most comprehensive cookbook I've ever come across! Questions welcome.
